Elpiniki is a compilation of two
Greek words, the first is " Elpis "
meaning "Hope" and the second
"Niki" meaning "Victory".
It was also known in ancient Greek
wars to be a place name or referred
to as a small island, either of which
would have been used as a
dominant location in time of war,
hence giving
"Hope of Victory"

It is also referred to as an old
Greek female name.
We came across the word
"Elpiniki" whilst on holiday on the
Island of Zakinthos, it was the
name of the apartments that we
stayed at in a little village called
"Alikes".

It was a beautiful location.
